February 21st is the day in 2022 set aside in the United States to honor the nation’s presidents with a national holiday observance. Some of the American presidents, particularly those who served in the early days of the republic, were actively involved with horse racing. At least nine presidents from more modern times (Truman, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan. both Bushes, Clinton, and Trump) attended premier American racing events, as future, current, or past residents of the White House.
Following are links to two articles from the White House Historical Society that are especially appropriate on this Presidents’ Day.

On Independence Day 2017, Horse Racing Business published the article “American Presidents and Horse Racing.” Click here for that article.
